Dana Dokmanovich’s Background

Dana Dokmanovich was born in Serbia to her parents. Her mother’s name is Bess Dokmanovich, but her father’s name is unknown. She immigrated to the United States as a young child and has little memory of her previous European life.

According to Blount Jr.’s book, Dana’s mother and father are from Serbia. In addition to being “Franco’s mother-in-law,” she claims to have served as his secretary.

Franco Harris was married for a long time to his wife, Dana Dokmanovich. The two fell in love after meeting in college at Penn State University where they both attended school.

Dana Dokmanovich and Franco Harris have been seen together at numerous public events throughout their marriage; however, she has kept most details about her private life private because so little is known about it.

Their Son: Dok Harris

Dok is the son of Franco and Dana Dokmanovich and was raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He studied political economy at Princeton University before enrolling in law school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he earned his degree.

He also attended Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business before challenging Mayor Luke Ravenstahl in the Pittsburgh mayoral race back in 2009.


In an interview with Pittsburgh Magazine back in September 2010, Dok revealed that his mother did not want him to pursue a career in football.

Dana Dokmanovich and Franco Harris’ Family: Nationality and Ethnicity

Franco was born to a Black father and an Italian mother. His nationality is American, and he had the support of a loud ethnic group known as “Franco’s Italian Army” because of his Italian ethnicity.

His well-known play, “The Immaculate Reception,” made its debut on December 23, 1972. The title uses biblical language even though his religious affiliation is unknown.


Franco’s parents were Gina Parenti Harris and Cad Harris. Cad fought in World War II as a Black soldier posted in Italy during the war where he met Gina who was an Italian national and later immigrated to the United States with him.

They had nine children named Daniela, Mario, Franco, Marisa, Alvara, Luana Piero Giuseppe Michele. Gina passed away on July 15th of 1984 while Cad died at age sixty on July 17th of 1980.In conclusion, Dana Dokmanovich’s background has been shrouded in mystery for many years; however little by little more information about her family has come out since her husband’s death.
